Aberdeen Hopeful To Keep Events

March 21, 2014, 5:23 PM by Erich Schaffhauser

Aberdeen Hopeful To Keep Events

As the South Dakota High School Activities Association considers future tournament locations, community leaders in Aberdeen are hopeful to keep some of the events there.

Events are an important part of the Hub City's tourism industry and state championship tournaments play a big part in that.

Whenever the debate comes up with the activities association, community leaders weigh in on the discussion.

“We're just happy that everybody's here. We've got a good crowd going, some great action with some great games. We're hopeful that the state tournament will always stick around Aberdeen. I mean Aberdeen's kind of home for state Bs,” Casey Weismantel with the Aberdeen Convention and Visitors Bureau said.

The convention and visitors bureau says people in the community do their best to address any concerns the activities association brings up about events hosted in Aberdeen.
