A Dose Of Medical Marijuana

February 26, 2014, 7:14 AM by Ben Dunsmoor

A Dose Of Medical Marijuana
LUVERNE, MN -

Medical Marijuana is legal in 20 states and the District of Columbia and the next state to join that list could be right next door.

As the Minnesota legislative session kicks off this week, some are predicting the state will become the next state to legalize medical marijuana.

We talked with a Luverne, Minnesota, family who supports the move.

"For her it's a liquid. It's actually a form of medical marijuana that's very high in the non-psychoactive component called CBD and very low in the THC which is the psychoactive component. So, it would not be getting her high. She wouldn't smoke it. She'd just be having less seizures," medical marijuana supporter Jim Johnson said.

The Johnsons talk about their support for medical marijuana and we also hear from law enforcement about their thoughts on the measure coming up tonight on Eye on KELOLAND at 10 p.m.
