Fifty-two-year-old Lt. William Dement has died at his home in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
Dement was one of the First Responders on 9/11 and shared his accounts of that day with South Dakotans at the Cry Out America 9/11 Remembrance in 2011.
He'll be remembered for his love of people, his ability to educate the public regarding first responder issues and the effects of September 11 on them and their families.
His memorial service is scheduled for ten o'clock Thursday morning in Ruidoso, NM.
