400 New Jobs For Sioux Falls

December 13, 2011, 6:45 AM by Kellee Azar

400 New Jobs For Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, SD - Capital One is probably best known for its commercials.  But now in Sioux Falls, the company is known for having 400 new jobs to fill.

Since the downturn of the economy, finding a job has become even more difficult. A national company new to KELOLAND has 400 job openings and it's beginning the hiring process Tuesday.

"We have a job fair here at Southeast Tech Institute and we are really excited to bring actually 400 new jobs to Sioux Falls with Capital One.  We are launching our contact center operation here in January and we are really excited to be here in Sioux Falls," Capital One Operations Director Dave Herr said.

Capital One will have booths set up Tuesday at Southeast Technical Institute to begin filling these new positions.

"Predominantly what we are hiring for here in Sioux falls is our contact center operations so these are largely phone agent positions," Herr said.

The job fair is not only to get applicants, it's also informational.

"Apply right here on the spot.  We welcome anyone to walk in whether it be just to talk about the position we have, open opportunities that we have or actually apply for one of those opportunities that we have," Herr said.

When working for a call center such as Capital One, the most important qualification is attitude.

"First and foremost a passion for helping customers and really enjoying customer services and really wanting to help customers resolve their issues," Herr said.

The job fair is open from 2pm until 7pm but the application process will continue until the positions are filled.

For more information on the available jobs, visit the Capital One website.
