The 34th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade is being held on Saturday March 16 in downtown Sioux Falls.
The parade begins forming on 5th Street and Main Avenue at 12:30 in the afternoon and officially starts at 2 p.m. Vehicles will be lined up on a first come, first serve basis. The parade proceeds through the downtown area.
Before the parade begins, the traditional Painting of the Shamrock will take place on 9th Street and Phillips Avenue at 11:45 a.m. and serves as the official kick-off to the day's events.
While there is no entry fee to participate in the parade, there is a requirement that each adult participant, ages 16 and up, purchase and wear the official St. Patrick's Day Parade button. The buttons are $3 each and proceeds are donated to the Special Olympics and other charities in the Sioux Falls Area. The buttons are available at the Chamber of Commerce office located at 200 N. Phillips Avenue, Suite 102.
