South Dakota's 24/7 Sobriety Program has been selected as one of the 10 best criminal justice innovative practices in the country.
Attorney General Marty Jackley has announced that the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys, the U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance and the Center for Court Innovation is honoring the 24/7 program and nine other programs from around the country.
The 24/7 Sobriety Program was established in 2005. The program uses breath tests, monitoring bracelets, urinalysis and drug patches to monitor offenders with addictions.
The program along with the nine others will be highlighted during the Criminal Justice Summit in Florida on Feb. 19-21.
