18th Annual Germanfest Held In Sioux Falls

18th Annual Germanfest Held In Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Germany is roughly 4,600 miles away from South Dakota, but on Satuurday you didn't have to travel near that far to enjoy all the polka and schnitzel you wanted.

That’s because the 18th annual Germanfest was held at Falls Park in Sioux Falls.

And with live music, food and plenty of games all afternoon and evening, organizers say it's the perfect family event. With all the events going on in downtown Sioux Falls this weekend, organizers are optimistic they'll see some large crowds.

“You can tell with what's going on downtown with the arts exhibit and you can tell that the wind is from the northwest a little bit, so that's a magnet. They should be able to smell everything that's taking place down there,” Germanfest organizer Harold Schmidt said.

Organizers expect more than 15,000 people to come out Saturday.
