Thune Decision Anticipated
July 2, 2001, 6:28 AM

Many other Republicans are putting their plans on hold until Thune announces if he'll run for governor or the US Senate next year. Thune says there is a lot of curiosity, but he says it's too early for campaigns to begin.
Political scientist Bob Burns says a Senate race between Thune and Democratic Senator Tim Johnson could be an expensive one. He says they could probably raise more money than they could spend wisely.
