SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Nearly 1,000 needy kids in Sioux Falls have brand new shoes thanks to generous donations at the Goodwill.
The 22nd annual Christmas Shoe and Mitten Party was held this afternoon, where low income children were fitted for their new shoes by volunteers, including members of the military. The children also got to pick out socks, hats and two pairs of gloves to keep warm this winter.
“What we want to bring is joy and happiness and a lot of hope to some little kids and their families,” Betty Durfee of Goodwill said.
Next Saturday, Goodwill plans to host the same party in Rapid City, where they expect 400 children.
