JUNCTION CITY, SD -
One person died and another was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in far southeast South Dakota.
The Highway Patrol did not immediately identify the people involved in the accident late Wednesday afternoon at a state Highway 50 intersection near Junction City.
The patrol says the driver of a pickup truck failed to stop at a stop sign before crossing the highway and collided with another pickup. The first driver was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. The other driver suffered what authorities say are serious but not life-threatening injuries.
