Storm Center Update-Thursday AM

November 1, 2012, 6:08 AM by Brian Karstens

A cold front is sliding south this morning with a cooler forecast for most areas today.  Low clouds and patches of fog have accompanied the front with highs mostly in the 40s in the north, with 50s in the south.  The warmest weather will be found in western SD with mid 60s still likely in Rapid City.  This front will go through mainly dry, with no drought relief coming our way anytime soon.

Highs will remain cool tomorrow, especially in the northeast with highs only near 40 in Sisseton.  That cooler trend will spread over most of KELOLAND this weekend.  The best chance of rain and snow will remain over the northeast starting Friday afternoon and continuing into Saturday.  The chance of precipitation is 20%.

Temperatures will start to warm into early next week into the 50s, with some 60 degree weather possible at some point.  The mild Pacific air will likely come into the plains in waves, so over all, the pattern looks far from winter-like.
