The Story:

Ten years ago, an F4 tornado tried to wipe the small town of Spencer, South Dakota off the map. Six people were killed and most of the community's homes were destroyed.

It didn't take long before hundreds of people from around KELOLAND headed to Spencer to help with the recovery effort. This page tells their story.

Spencer Tornado Anniversary

The Spencer tornado has changed many lives. Not only the hundreds who once called Spencer home, but the thousands of people who came together to help. There have been a lot of changes since that fateful night, but memories of the Spencer tornado will live on.
