Volunteers from Honor Flight South Dakota are planning their fourth trip to Washington, D.C. to show World War II veterans their memorial.
Veterans on the third flight took off from Aberdeen and returned with great reviews.
"Really makes the tears come to your eyes when you see all these people lined up when we're getting out at the airport and they're all standing there saluting us as we came off," Clyde Mork said.
For the two days Honor Flight was in Washington, D.C., there wasn't much relaxing.
"Well, just brings back a lot of memories of the air force," Elmer Roth said as the group visited the Air Force memorial.
But with memorials to see and thanks to hear, there're wasn't much time to sit back anyway.
"I would never want to miss it; it was really more than I expected," William Giessinger said.
"Anybody that's missing this here is really missing something great," Doug Carl said.
The rain fell, and fell and then kept right on falling.
"The trip is great. I don't know how you could do any better but change the weather," Clyde Mork said.
"This is the best trip I've been on and the first one," Roger Moore said.
One hundred ten veterans flew on the South Dakota Honor Flight out of Aberdeen.
"There's still 500 names back home so put a plug in you guys out there, put some money in the pot," Jerry Cloos said.
"I think it's great, worth the trip," Don Turnquist said.
And you can always rest after it's done.
