If you didn't get exactly what you wanted for Christmas this year, you probably made a trip back to the store.
While some people may enjoy a day off on the day after Christmas, that's not the case for everyone. For Colleen Brezny, it's a trip back to the store to make trades on some of her Christmas gifts.
"I'm doing a little bit of both, I exchanged something and I ditched something else," shopper Colleen Brezny said.
Shoppers aren't the only ones dealing with the return craze, so are store employees.
"We're expecting people to wake up and bring their gift cards and returns in and see what kind of hot buys we have going on today," Shelly Shaneyfelt, Sears said.
For those shoppers that aren't returning their holiday gifts, they're searching for those holiday deals.
"Our clearance is an additional 50% off so that's a really good deal right now, so most of the time people are still really just shopping," Billie Enderby, Manager at Bohme said.
Deals like that catch the eye of Holly Kennedy.
"Wanted to get here early when they first started out and kind of seeing what's out there today that I didn't see before Christmas," shopper Holly Kennedy said.
So whatever the reason for hitting the stores today, it's a trip these shoppers are happy with.
"I thought I will just go see what I can find out and about on my day off," Kennedy said.
"It all went fine, smooth and good," Brezny said.
The Rushmore mall has different holiday hours during New Years. We've provided a link to that information here.
