Rosholt Ethanol Plant Operating After 18 Months

Rosholt, SD

After sitting idle for about 18 months, an ethanol plant in the northeast South Dakota town of Rosholt has reopened.

New Red River Energy general manager Rick Serie told the Public Opinion in Watertown that 30 employees are working in production after getting the plant ready.

Serie says plans include increasing from an annual capacity of 25 million gallons to 40 million gallons. He says other projects in the works include corn oil extraction and increased storage capacity for ethanol and dried distillers grains.
