Party Consultants Target Of Fake Check Scam

Sioux Falls ,SD

If you're a home party consultant you could be the target of an old fake check scam.
The Better Business Bureau has put out a warning for sales people working for popular companies like Thirty-One Gifts, Avon, Lia Sophia and others.
The sales consultant gets an email from someone saying they want to buy their products and wants to pay with a check.
The so-called consumer sends a check, but it's for more than the amount of the sale, so the consultant is asked to wire the extra money back to the buyer.  The problem is the check is bogus and the sales consultant is out of any money they wire.
