It's been a frustrating day for some Midcontinent Communications phone customers.
We've heard from several viewers who can make calls, but cannot receive them. If you dial their numbers, you only get a busy signal.
Monday afternoon, Midcontinent Communications sent out a message on Twitter saying engineers are working non-stop until phone services are fully restored.
Senior Vice President of Public Policy Tom Simmons says an upgrade initiated by a Midcontinent vendor did not complete tables necessary for incoming calls from another source (another phone provider) to access the switch so those calls are not completing.
As of 3 p.m., Midcontinent expects the problems to be resolved in the next couple of hours.
