Local Restaurants Prepare For Super Bowl

Sioux Falls, SD

It’s not an unusual sight to spot people watching sporting events at local bars year round.

But this Sunday, bars all over the country will be packed for the big game.

"I have been for the Super Bowl.  Typically other places that I have been, like I said, they are slower. This place stays busy for the Super Bowl so that did kind of surprise me, but it's a good problem to have," General Manager of Rookies Jamie Wiechmann said.

Wiechmann is expecting a full house, and the staff will be ready to go as they prepare ahead of time.

"Making sure everything is set up and making sure we have enough beer in stock and making sure the food is ready to go because people like to chow down for the Super Bowl as well," Wiechmann said.

In order to ensure that you’re full and have a good Super Bowl experience, Wiechmann and his team have been working overtime.

"The advantage here is with our screens and we turn the volume up pretty good so it’s like a theatre in here. We have a great atmosphere for the game and so we typically fill up pretty good for the game," Wiechmann said.

Whether you show up or have a house party, Wiechmann says even working on Super Bowl Sunday isn't as bad as it may seem.

"It's the Super Bowl.  I mean it's a national holiday, of course, it's fun," Wiechmann said.

Wiechmann says Rookies is well prepared for Sunday and he is excited not only for the game, but for the turn out.
