People who attend JazzFest can cool down with frozen yogurt from the first Orange Leaf food truck in the nation.
Perry Baloun owns the Watertown franchise and came up with the idea for a trailer for the frozen yogurt company. He's already had calls from others across the nation about getting one of their own. Orange Leaf has more than 400 stores across the country.
Baloun has invested more than $140,000 into the mobile unit.
"We took the footprint we have for our stores and modeled it after that. We put everything that is in the store in the trailer and just sized it down," Baloun said.
JazzFest goers will be able to buy a cup of "froyo" for $6. Smoothies are $5. Baloun will take the truck to four more events this summer, including the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
The Sioux Falls Orange Leaf store on South Louise Avenue was owned by Baloun's cousin. It closed after a year in business.
