Sioux Falls, SD
After reviewing proposals from eight local and national design companies, the city of Sioux Falls has picked one to design the look of improvements at Falls Park West.
Sink Combs Dethlefs from Denver has been selected for the project, which will also include a new outdoor music venue. The company previously worked on the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
The Denver-based firm will handle the bandshell's architecture. Stockwell Engineers was selected for landscaping and civil engineering, MEP Engineering & Lighting will focus on mechanical engineering, and acoustical design will be handled by A/V & Acoustics. The structural engineering for the project has been assigned to Structural Engineering Associates.
Final designs for the Levitt Pavilion are expected to be finished within the next 18 months, with construction scheduled to start in early 2018. Officials hope to have the bandshell open in 2019.
The Levitt Pavilion is a part of a five-year project at Falls Park West. The Levitt Foundation will provide 50 free concerts during the summer.
Sioux Falls is just the ninth community selected for a Levitt Pavilion.
