AG Awards Mortgage-Fraud Settlement Money To Housing Fund

pierre, sd

More mortgage-fraud settlement money is coming to South Dakota to educate home buyers and prevent future problems.

As part of a national settlement with Lender Processing Services or LPS, the state will receive $344,000.

It will go to the South Dakota Housing Development Authority which offers home buyer education classes.

The LPS money is in addition to the $7.8 million South Dakota received from the mortgage fraud settlement involving the nation's five largest providers.
