Winter Blast To Return On Wednesday

It was another warm day in KELOLAND after Temperatures warmed to the 30s, 40s and 50s. Soon enough, we'll be much colder with snow and wind. But let's keep in mind, the snow isn't entirely bad.

The recent melting in KELOLAND doesn't necesarily go into the ground since much of the ground is still frozen, but it does run off into area lakes and rivers. The moisture is good because KELOLAND is still very dry.

The latest drought monitor shows that western South Dakota is still in the extreme drought category. Over the past couple of weeks, abnormally dry conditions have extended into eastern KELOLAND.

January is typically one of the driest months out of the year, so we don't expect things to be drought busting. But, let's take whatever moisture we can get.

Let's also be careful as the weather will bring in dangerous travel conditions late in the day on Wednesday into Thursday morning.
