Warmer Weather Expected For Holiday Weekend

Sioux Falls, SD

The rain on Monday wasn't as widespread as many would have hoped, which is unfortunate because we could use any rain will can get.  We're about to go into a stretch of warmer weather with little chance for rain this week.

Warm and dry air will be in place in the central United States this week.  Along with that, a cut-off low pressure system will be spinning in the southwest.  This will help pump warm air into KELOLAND and the upper plains.  Air that comes from the southwest is warm and dry air; we'll see that this week.

As of now, the warmest day will hold off until the weekend.  That's when we can have widespread 80 degree heat in KELOLAND.  But we'll have to watch for any energy the low in the southwest will spin in our direction, as they could spark a scattered storm or two late in the weekend and into early next week.
