Friday is here and the cold is firmly in place across KELOLAND. We have wind chill advisories this morning for many areas.
Highs today will be a few degrees above zero in most areas with chances of light snow in the west and central.
Here's a look at FutureScan. Notice most of the snow stays west of Sioux Falls today and amounts look to stay light, under 1". Winds are also light compared to yesterday.
Overnight lows are very cold with teens and 20s below zero common. Aberdeen looks coldest at -21.
Highs tomorrow look cold again, but warmer temps will start to move into the west through the afternoon.
Sunday looks warmer, but there are 2 chances of snow. One arrives in the morning with the warm front. The other chance of snow could accompany the cold front later in the day. Northwest winds will increase again and cold air will pour south.
Here's some good news. Another January thaw looks LIKELY by the end of the week. 30s, 40s, and even 50s will return to parts of KELOLAND as we melt snow. More to come on this story later today.
