Towns across eastern South Dakota are cleaning up after a line of strong storms moved through the area on Tuesday night.

The Moody County Sheriff's Office says winds caused substantial tree damage in towns such as Colman and Ward. Nearby, the Lake County Sheriff's Office reports storm damage around Lake Madison and Brant Lake. Campers were overturned and some roads were blocked by fallen trees.

Similar storm damage reports are also coming from areas such as Brookings, Davison, Lake, McCook, Minnehaha, and Turner counties. Storms stretched from Interstate 90 to the North Dakota border on Tuesday night. Many counties recorded hail while a tornado was spotted near Tulare in Spink County.
