Remaining Below Average In August

Besides starting with the letter A, August has not been much different than June and July. Temperatures haven't warmed up much. Many locations in KELOLAND have had below average highs.

Rapid City, Mitchell, and Pierre are six degrees below average compared to the climate average highs.  They are followed by Sioux Falls, Huron and Aberdeen being five degrees below the average high.  Watertown and Winner are four degrees off.

Much of this week will remain slightly below average, but that trend might change for early next week.  While I don't think it will be a prolonged warm-up, we should get back to average or slightly above average by next Monday.
