More Wintry Weather On The Way

More wintry weather is on the way, but we'll break the cold weather soon in eastern KELOLAND.

The fog in eastern KELOLAND helped us stay warmer than western South Dakota Monday morning, that's something that hasn't happened much this winter. Western South Dakota has been much warmer than central and eastern KELOLAND. On some days, there's at least a 20 degree difference from the west to the east.

The main reason is the upper air currents cutting South Dakota in half from the northwest to the southeast. For central and eastern KELOLAND it stays cold, while the west is much warmer.

Granted, there are days when the cold air over takes all of KELOLAND. We'll see that later this week, but it will be a short lived cold spell with warmer air ready to overtake not only western South Dakota, but eastern KELOLAND as well.

After all, the average high in Sioux Falls increases to 30 degrees during the first week of February.
