The cloudy skies and periods of rain in eastern KELOLAND are just a sign of things to come for the rest of the week. While Wednesday will feature a slight chance for showers, there's a better chance for rain Wednesday night into Thursday. As we know, it's much needed rain.
This is where areas of South Dakota are at for precipitation so far this year. Winner, Philip and Huron are over two inches where they should be this time of year. Pierre and Sioux Falls are close to two inches under.
The main piece of energy will slide across the plains Wednesday night and Thursday. This will give us a chance at widespread precipitation, and it's the time when most of the rain this week will fall.
Amounts in eastern and extreme western KELOLAND for the week will be close to a half inch or more. Amounts in central South Dakota will not be as much, but a quarter to a half inch will
There will be stronger storms to our south that can steal some of the available moisture in KELOLAND. Even if that happens, this month is looking more active than last month.
