Latest Storm Brings Snow Totals Closer To Prediction

Sioux Falls, SD

While the heaviest of the snow fell south and southeast of Sioux Falls, the city still picked up close to 3 inches which helps me inch closer to my snowfall prediction.

There may have been a steady hum in your neighborhood due to snow blowers or the scrape from snow shovels as people were busy moving snow. However that snow missed northern South Dakota.

With the 2.7 inches in Sioux Falls, we're just shy of 15 inches so far this year.  Aberdeen and Pierre missed the measurable snow and still sits at less than a half foot. But we added to the totals in Rapid City and the Hills. So far, Sioux Falls, Rapid City, and the Hills are about a third of the way to my predictions. Aberdeen and Pierre are around to ten percent of my prediction.

The rest of the week is looking quiet with warming temperatures. As of now, the next chance for snow is looking to be at the beginning of February.
