Last Week Of November Known For Snow

The brown ground during the first week of November is nothing out of the ordinary.

Since 2000, Sioux Falls has averaged just under a half a foot of snow in November. We've only received more than that four times. During that twelve year span, we experienced a snow-less Novembers twice.

The last week of November is the time to watch for big snow.  It makes up for 82 percent of the snow recorded in the second half of the month.

Twice since 2000, Sioux Falls has had more than a foot of snow during that time. 12.6 inches fell in 2005 and 13.8 inches fell in 2001.
