Higher Humidity Coming

With all the rain southeast KELOLAND had in June, it got me thinking about possibly getting oppressive humidity much like what we had in 2011.

While that June wasn't as wet.  The months leading up to it were close.  May, June, and the first half of July had 12 and three-quarters inch of rain.  That's an inch less than this past June.

All that rain combined with warm temps that year to help crops grow, which in turn also releases humidity.  As a result, Sioux Falls had a low of eighty degrees on July 17, 2011.  That was the fifth time Sioux Falls has had a low of 80.

Things need to align just right to get a mild and muggy overnight low of eighty.  Not only do I think we'll need persistent hits of rain, but we also need the heat to move into KELOLAND and stick around for awhile.

I think the steady chances for rain will continue for the month, but the constant heat might be the tough one.  Granted we will be humid this summer, but I don't see the prolonged heat and humidity like we had in 2011.
