It was one of those spring days with thunderstorms in the east and a blizzard in the west. While hail stayed under severe limits, it cast a blanket that looked like snow. Snow will move into southeast KELOLAND Friday night and last into Saturday. It will be heavy at times with snowfall rates at an inch or two per hour. Those rates might put some in jeopardy of getting their heaviest snow for a one day period.
Here's a look at the heaviest one day snow for April in KELOLAND.
Aside from the northern Hills, Winner tops the list with 28 inches on April 18 of 1995. Aberdeen is close behind with 25 on April 7, 1894. the amounts do taper off to near 10 to 12 inches for a one day total for many in KELOLAND.
With the strong wind that will accompany the snow, it will be hard to measure but I wouldn't be surprised if we see some of those records fall.
