Black Friday shoppers certainly knew about the cold winds that we often get this time of year. Many in KELOLAND had below-zero wind chills Friday morning. But several big changes come this weekend.
Along with Black Friday, the Parade of Lights helps ring in the Christmas holiday season. If you're bringing the family out to Philips Avenue in Downtown Sioux Falls, dress ready for a biting wind. Though Friday morning's breeze faded slightly, variable winds will funnel through downtown buildings. By the time the parade is winding down, we'll cool to the lower 20s.
We follow up a week of both record warmth and brutal wind chills with another warm day. South winds return but highs depend on wind direction and strength. Still, it doesn't seem like we'll break too many more records.
Sunday brings some big changes to the same area. A slow moving system will lumber through the Black Hills. Several computer models bring a half inch of moisture to the northwestern Hills. We could be looking at a few inches of fresh powder by Monday.
