Chances For Rain Will Continue

It was cloudy and rainy from central South Dakota through northwest Iowa for much of the morning on Wednesday.  Rain amounts have been over an inch for some in western, central and south central KELOLAND, but the rain misses several places.  That area is north central and northeast South Dakota where some people are still waiting.

While we do have chances for rain in northeast South Dakota for the next several days, it's not as great as what's possible in southeast KELOLAND.

In fact, when you look at the rain outlook from the American and European models, they both have Aberdeen receiving the least through Sunday with an average of just a third of an inch.  Pierre and Rapid City have a little more, but those are areas that have received rain over the past couple of days.  Southeast KELOLAND still may have a soaking coming as the models are projecting near an inch and a half through Sunday.

Weak high pressure in Minnesota is to blame, as it is supplying northeast KELOLAND with enough dry air to cut-off the precip chances.  As that high drifts away, we'll see if anything materializes for the rest of the week.
