Below Average Temperatures Across KELOLAND

After a below average April for KELOLAND, we've been trying to make up ground for the first week and a half of May with above average temperatures and mostly dry weather.

But the rain returned this week and cooler air has followed. In fact, Thursday is the first time this month that Sioux Falls will have a below average high.  The average high for Sioux Falls is now 68.

Here's a quick look at the last time we've been below average.

In Sioux Falls, we have to go back to April for our last below average day.
Otherwise, many on this list started the month below average but haven't looked back since.

Mitchell's last below average day was May 3.  Since then, Mitchell has had high temperatures range from 80 to 85 degrees.

While the clouds and rain will keep temps down through at least Saturday, we'll return to average or slightly above by next week.
