Monday morning, many had temperatures in the single digits above and below zero. Aberdeen was one of the coldest spots as temperature sneaked down to -11 degrees.
So far this winter, Sioux Falls is right on schedule with below zero temperatures. Since 1990, the city has averaged about ten days with overnight lows below zero. With seven below zero lows last month and one below zero reading earlier this month, Sioux Falls has eight below zero readings so far.
All of last winter, we only had nine. And a typical winter gives Sioux Falls about 20 below zero lows.
While we'll experience a short lived warm up this week, plenty of below zero air may be on the way.
