MMA Stops In Sioux Falls

Sioux Falls, SD

For the first time in South Dakota history, mixed martial arts fighters converge on Sioux Falls for a sanctioned fighting event, Resurrection Fighting Alliance 17, at the Sanford Pentagon.

The doors at the Pentagon open up at 6 p.m. with the first of 12 fights from Resurrection Fighting Alliance. They are one of a number of fighting promotions, and one of the biggest in the world is UFC, the company that Robbie Lawler currently works for. He is one of the top fighters in the promotion as he is set to fight for the welterweight title.

Lawler will talk with us about the life of an MMA fighter, what it's like to see the event come to South Dakota for the first time and how he thinks fighting will be received. He'll also talk about why the sport is becoming so popular.
