HSFB: Reiff Is Ready To Lead Parkston

Parkston, SD

Can you believe high school football kicks off in five days? Before the teams begin their journey to the dome, we want you to join us Wednesday night at 6:30 for our 2014 High School Football Preview Show as we take a look at this year’s top contenders. Here is a look at one of the state's top play makers, Parkston's Brady Reiff.

The Trojans have never won a state title in football, despite having a recent graduate starting on the offensive line for the Detroit Lions. After high school, Riley Reiff went on to play for the University of Iowa. Now his 6'4" little brother, Brady, has also decided to take his talents to Iowa City.

"It will be a fun experience and I'm looking forward to it. I'm glad I got the commitment off my shoulders. I love Iowa and that is why I choose them," Reiff said.

Brady is entering his senior season a back-to-back state wrestling champion. On the football field he is a tight end on offense and a linebacker on defense. He has been clocked running the 40 yard dash in 4.52 seconds. As of now the Hawkeyes are looking at putting this Reiff on the other side of the ball.

"Right now I am looking at the defensive side of the ball. I could end up anywhere from outside linebacker to defensive end, but we will see where things go," Reiff said.

If things go for Brady as they did for Riley, he too may find himself playing on Sundays. But for now he is taking his brother's advice to enjoy his Friday nights in Parkston and hopefully bring their home town a state championship.

"It would be awesome and it would be our first one, so that's the goal. He's a big inspiration. He has been somebody for me to look up to and he has obviously been around me my whole life. I can take a lot of the things he did and follow in his footsteps hopefully," Reiff said.
Reiff and his Trojans will welcome in Groton Area this Friday night. Kickoff is set for seven o'clock.
