Cop From South Dakota Wins North American Dart Championships

A police officer from Pickstown is celebrating after a big win in the world of professional darts.

Willard "Willie J." Bruguier, III, claimed glory on his big-stage debut last night at the PDC North American Championship in Las Vegas. He beat 2014 champion Dave Richardson 6-5 in the finals, earning himself a $10,000 prize.

By winning the North American title, Bruguier earned the chance to play at the William Hill World Champions later this year in London.

On Friday, he joins seven other North American dart players in a matchup against the top players in the world at the 2-day U.S. Darts Masters.
