University of South Dakota senior quarterback Chris Streveler has been named both Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week and FCS National Performer of the Week by College Football Performance Awards. It is the second straight week that Streveler has earned the MVFC award.
Those accolades came after Streveler accounted for four touchdowns in South Dakota’s 35-27 win against Bowling Green Saturday in Ohio. It was the program’s second win against a FBS program and first since topping Minnesota in 2010. Streveler passed for 306 yards and one touchdown, and ran for a game-high 119 yards and three scores.
Streveler passed for 300 yards for the second time in 12 games as a Coyote, and surpassed 100 yards rushing for the sixth time. His three rushing scores are a career-best, and he hooked up with Kody Case on a 72-yard bomb in the middle of the first quarter. Streveler has accounted for 10 touchdowns in two games this season.
