Eighth Grader Bringing Snacks To Super Bowl Tailgate Party

A Worthington eight grader is being honored by the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee for her super snack recipe.

Aaliyah Schaffer submitted a mixture of fruit and vegetables topped with lemon juice and spices to the Super Snack Challenge weeks ago. She recently found out she is one of 52 winners. Schaffer will get to attend a special Kids Tailgate Party during the 10-day Super Bowl Festival in Minneapolis.

"The snack I created was a fruit kabob. It's called 'Sweet Lemon,'" Schaffer said.

Schaffer says she's excited to bring three people with her to the Kids Tailgate Party in Minneapolis. Ten "All-Pro" kid chefs will be chosen and the top snack maker will be given $25,000 to donate to charity.
