Governor Requests Nominations To Fill Seat Following Tieszen's Death

The governor's office is collecting nominations for candidates to fill a state House of Representative seat left vacant after the death of Rep. Craig Tieszen.

Gov. Dennis Daugaard will make the final appointment for District 34, an area that includes part of western and northern Rapid City. 

Tieszen died in a kayaking accident off an island in the South Pacific Ocean

To submit a nomination, contact the governor's office at 605-773-3661. Nominations should include the candidate's name, current address, telephone number and relevant background information.
