British Parliament Members Learn About Primary Process

sioux falls, sd

You might say Sioux Falls is experiencing a British invasion.

Four sitting members of British Parliament are in South Dakota this week.  Members are visiting Sioux Falls to learn more about the primary election process.

While Britain does not have election primaries, these members are looking at how our methods could help British Politics.

"Why?  Because like all countries that are democratic, we want greater engagement with communities and people particularly with those who have become a little disengaged with politics.  We want them to be more active," Lord Tariq Ahmand said.

Later on this week, this group will be visiting other areas of the state including Mount Rushmore.
