Wintry Weekend

Summit, SD

Much of South Dakota woke up in the deep freeze Saturday morning.

Strong gusts created bitterly cold wind chills while blowing snow caused drifting on roads and highways.

Shelly Anderson of the Coffee Cup truck stop at Summit, SD said high profile vehicles were having difficulty staying on the roads because of the winds.

The storm began Friday dumping several inches of snow in the Black Hills, before moving east.
