Trial Set For Woman Accused Of Killing Husband

RAPID CITY, SD

A South Dakota woman accused of shooting her husband to death is to go on trial in the fall.

Judge Jack Delaney has scheduled the first-degree murder trial for 28-year-old Amanda Kaur to begin Sept. 26.

Prosecutors allege that Kaur last November shot 26-year-old Ira Kaur twice in the head over a six-hour period in their New Underwood home and then tried to make his death look like a suicide.

Ira Kaur was a staff sergeant at Ellsworth Air Force Base.

Prosecutors announced last month that they will not seek the death penalty if Amanda Kaur is convicted.
