Thune: Stimulus Package Doesn't Create Enough Jobs

Senator John Thune says he has big problems with the current contents of the $825 economic stimulus plan being debated in Washington.

Thune says President Obama has said he wants a package that's timely, targeted and temporary but that the stimulus plan that's been offered is "slow, unfocused and endless."

The Republican senator told South Dakota reporters on Wednesday that few of the programs will create jobs and that it amounts to a "huge expansion" of big government that does little to stimulate the economy.

Thune also says he gets "major heartburn" over the high cost to future generations to borrow the money.
