Sunday Boredom Busters

Learn about possible solutions to global warming at a conference today in Sioux Falls.
The South Dakota Climate Challenge is being held at the Oaks Hotel on West Russell.
The conference goes from eight this morning to 12:30 this afternoon. 

A good time is yours for the picking at Country Apple Orchard.
Harvest Festival goes from noon to five.
There's free parking.
The orchard is located four miles south of Sioux Falls on Minnesota Avenue. 

Cheer your favorite team at the Sioux Falls Softball Benefit Tournament at Sherman Prk.
Activities include softball plus bean bag games and raffle drawings.
It's a fundraiser for firefighters local 814 and the hook and ladder association. 

The South Dakota Humanities Council is hosting a book fair at Barnes and Noble today.
Ask for a voucher at the bookstore and part of your purchase will be donated to the South Dakota Center for the Book.
The vouchers are good through October sixth. 

Brandon Lutheran Church is hosting a Fall Heritage Festival.
The menu includes home-cooked Swedish meatballs and roast turkey.
It's eight dollars for adults, four-dollars for kids.
A lefse bake sale starts at nine-thirty. 

And there will be a benefit bingo party this evening at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Canton.
The party goes from five to eight.
Money raised will help build a school in Honduras that was damaged in a mudslide.
