Sunday Boredom Busters

"Taiwan: From Within the Mist" is the last day to see this unique, international exhibit featuring the artwork of some of Taiwan's finest comtemporary artists. View it at the Washington Pavillion for free from noon to 5 p-m.

If you haven't had enough fair-time for the summer, you can still make it to the last full day of the Brown County Fair in Aberdeen. Along with the usual livestock and exhibits, also take in a demolition derby at 12:30 or check out the carnival that opens at 1:00.

And there's still time to make it to Riverboat Days in Yankton. The day is loaded with events for children and adults. There are more than 150 booths of artists and craftsmen as well as concerts and games, most taking place in or near Riverside Park.

If your kids are looking for an educational jumpstart to the school year, you can drive over to Blue Mounds State Park near Luverne, Minnesota for the workshop, "Want to be an Archeologist?" Elementary aged students can meet at the beach and learn how archeologists look for bones in the earth by digging in the sand for hidden bison bones and other treasures. This goes from 11 to noon.
