Storm Center Update-Tuesday AM

Sioux Falls, SD

It’s plenty cold across KELOLAND this morning with lows into the teens and low 20s in most areas.  We are also tracking a few flurries in the far west, a sign of warmer air moving back into KELOLAND.  With increasing clouds in most areas, highs will range from the upper 30s in the northeast, to the mid 40s in the far west.  A few sprinkles will be possible in central KELOLAND through the afternoon.

Tomorrow is looking a little warmer with highs back into the upper 40s to lower 50s in most areas under partly cloudy skies.  While temperatures may be slightly cooler on Thursday, temperatures will be warming heading into the weekend as the jet stream maintains a “zonal” flow, with the coldest air remaining trapped in Canada for now.

There is a hint of a change in the forecast just before Thanksgiving as a possible storm system heads toward the plains.  It’s very early to get specific, but this system is not connected to any arctic air at this time, so rain or rain mixed with snow would be possible in parts of the plains.  We’ll see if this trend continues and have more later today and tomorrow.
