Sioux Falls Police Saturation

Sioux Falls, SD

It was a busy shift for Sioux Falls police overnight.

Extra officers were on duty to enforce drunk driving and seat belt laws.

The saturation ended at 4:00 Saturday morning.

Police report issuing dozens of tickets for seat belt violations, plus several arrests for DUI.

A seat belt citation carries a $25 fine.

Final numbers won't be available until next week.

The saturation is part of a nationwide effort to raise awareness about seat belt usage.

Police plan a daytime saturation for next weekend.
