SD Schools Get Grants For Math, Science Projects


Ten South Dakota schools and education organizations have received a total of $200,000 in grants to expand technical education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.


The National Science Foundation provided money for the Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research.

Projects funded by the grants range from dual-credit opportunities in information technology and robotics to courses in pre-engineering and biosciences.

Grant funds were awarded to Brookings School District, Burke School District, Clark School District, Lake Area Multi District, Northwest Area Schools Education Cooperative, Platte-Geddes School District, Sioux Falls School District, Stanley County School District, Todd County School District and the Yankton School District.
